You can record a CD to a cassette with the Panasonic RX-D29 boombox. Normal cassettes are most suitable for recording, whereas cassettes with high metal positioning might not be recorded properly. With such cassettes, there is a possibility that prior recording might not be erased. Here is how to record a CD to a cassette with your Panasonic RX-D29 boombox.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Steps to Record a CD to a Cassette

  1. Step 1

Take in consideration the following prior to recording. The recording level should be automatically set. Ensure that you take off the leader tape from a new cassette. Without removing the leader tape of the cassette, recording is not possible.

  2. Step 2

Press "Stop/Eject." Open the deck and load the cassette facing the tape upwards.

  3. Step 3

Open the CD lid and insert the CD facing its label upwards by pushing the "CD Open/Close" button on the player.

  4. Step 4

Insert the CD to be recorded, and push "CD Open/Close" to close the lid.

  5. Step 5

Press "CD>/■" and press "■" again for switching to the CD mode.

  6. Step 6

Press the "●Rec" button to start recording. The CD will start playing if it is on the CD mode. Keep in mind that the recording starts on one side only.

  7. Step 7

Turn the cassette to the other side and press "●Rec" for recording the other side.

  8. Steps to Stop Recording

  9. Step 1

Press "Stop/Eject" to stop recording. By pressing the "Stop/Eject" button, recording will stop but the CD will keep playing.

  10. Step 2

Press "Pause" to stop the recording temporarily. The CD will keep running. Press the "Pause" button again to resume the recording. This is useful for creating gaps between audio tracks.

Tips & Warnings
  • If a cassette finishes before the CD, the CD will continue to play. Press "■" to stop it.
  • For erasing a recording on a cassette, press "Tape/Off." Press the "●Rec" button, and it will erase the recorded tape of the cassette. It will erase the play at the same time.
  • Avoid keeping the unit near a TV, as unwanted noise may be recorded in such cases. Maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters between the unit and the TV.
