You cannot create an MP3 CD using your Panasonic RX-D29 boombox. You can, however, play an MP3 CD. MP3 CDs can be created using tools such as Windows Media player. While creating an MP3 CD with any of these tools, you should follow certain naming conventions so that the MP3 CD plays in the right order on your Panasonic RX-D29 boombox.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Panasonic RX-D29 Boombox
  • Computer
Step1
Use tools such as Windows Media player to convert audio files into MP3 files and write them on a writable CD.
Step2
Organize various tracks into folders (or albums) on the CD. While naming the album the following naming convention is recommended: The first three letters of the name should be digits signifying the order in which the albums should be played. (For instance, 001album, 002album, 003album and so forth.)
Step3
Copy MP3 tracks to albums. The naming convention for tracks is similar to that of albums. However, in this case the extension .mp3 should be added. (For instance, 001trackname.mp3, 002trackname.mp3, 003trackname.mp3 and so forth.) Note that the numbering of the tracks should continue across albums. In other words, do not restart numbering in different albums.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Panasonic RX-D29 boombox supports ISO9660 level 1 and level 2 MP3 formats only.
  • The player will not play files recorded using Packet Write — a method to write CDs.
