If you would like to make a back-up copy of all of your video files in your iTunes library or transfer them to another computer, you can burn a DVD. You should have an internal SuperDrive and Mac OS X version 10.2.4 or later. You may be able to use some third-party DVD burners. You should be able to store over 3000 MB of files on a DVD.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • DVD
  • Computer
Step1
Go to iTunes and select Preferences.

Step2
Select the Burning button at the top right-hand side of the iTunes window.
Step3
When prompted, choose the Data CD as the Disc Format. Select OK.

Step4
Select the playlist with the information you would like to include on the DVD.

Step5
Be sure there is a check mark next to each item you would like to include on your DVD.

Step6
Click the Burn Disc button.

Step7
Insert a blank disk (either DVD-R, or DVD-RW)
Step8
Click Burn Disc once again.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the information you would like to include is in various playlists, you may want to create one playlist containing the information.
  • MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV, Audible and any other audio files will be copied to the DVD.
  • Data DVDs may not play with the same quality in some DVD players but should in your computer's DVD player.
  • If you are attempting to copy more than your disc holds, you will be prompted to insert a new disc at the correct time.
