Using Block Recognizer to write on a Dell Axim screen is just one more innovative facet of handheld technology. It makes owning and operating a pocket PC a little more complex. Once you get the hang of Block Recognizer, it makes your Dell a little more convenient. Follow these steps to learn how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dell Axim
  • Stylus

Step1
Select "Block Recognizer" as your input method. Click on the "Input Method" icon on the bottom of the screen. Choose "Block Recognizer."
Step2
Enter numbers by drawing the symbol for the number you want in the right hand side of the Block Recognizer box.
Step3
Enter letters by drawing the symbol for the letter you want in the left hand side of the box.
Step4
For symbols, use either side of the box. Just draw the symbol for whichever non-alpha-numerical symbol you want to use.

Tips & Warnings

  • Using Block Recognizer takes a little time to become comfortable with. Once you’ve overcome the learning curve, though, it’s a fast and easy.
  • If you don’t know the symbol for the character you want to input, tap the question mark symbol to explore your options.
  • Try other programs if you like this style of input, but aren’t comfortable with Block Recognizer. Similar programs include Graffiti and HandNotes. These allow you to simply write in your own handwriting.
