If your HP iPAQ is on the fritz, you may need to take it in to be fixed. However, before taking your HP iPAQ to an authorized technician, you should make sure that it's absolutely necessary. Follow these steps to determine whether your HP iPAQ needs repair.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • owner's manual
  • HP iPAQ
  1. Step 1

Make sure your iPAQ is charged. Plug it in and try to turn it on. Many times a problem is really just a dead battery.

  2. Step 2

Make sure the battery isn't disconnected or loose. Sometimes, especially in the case of active people, a battery can become detached from its cradle. If there's no battery, there's no way to power your iPAQ.

  3. Step 3

If your iPAQ is running and you're experiencing a problem, restart it. Sometimes a simple reboot is all the fixing a Pocket PC needs.

  4. Step 4

Check the contrast and brightness levels on your iPAQ. What seems like a broken screen could in fact just be bad color settings.

  5. Step 5

If you're experiencing a software problem, download a newer version.

  6. Step 6

Consult your owner’s manual for troubleshooting tips.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always take your iPAQ to an authorized repair technician.
  • Never open up your iPAQ and try to do internal work yourself.
