Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • HP iPAQ
  1. Step 1

Turn on your HP iPAQ. You'll be sent to the “Start” screen which displays the time and date. It'll also show any meetings you've scheduled and other tasks you've stored to the pocket PC. The “Start” screen also shows you an email mailbox and alerts you to any new mail once you have logged on to the Internet.

  2. Step 2

Set up a remote connection with integrated Wi-Fi capability (if available on your iPAQ), the Ethernet or a Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) modem card.

  3. Step 3

Tap the “Messages” area of the “Start” screen with your iPAQ’s stylus once you've established a network connection.

  4. Step 4

Download the messages you find in your mailbox. If your web mail provider has an anti-virus scanning service, use it on your email messages before you download.

  5. Step 5

Read your email. You can save your messages in folders or throw them away as you see fit when you're finished reading. Close out the Internet connection if you have no other tasks to do online.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you save a lot of email messages, remember to sync up with your computer frequently to transfer the data over to the much larger hard drive of your PC.
  • Add an email provider’s site to your Favorites list for quick access.
  • Don't use anything other than the stylus that comes with your HP iPAQ to tap or write on the touch-sensitive screen. Order a replacement from Hewlett-Packard if you lose your stylus. Other items can scratch or otherwise damage the screen.
