One of the many ways you can personalize your pocket PC is to record a voice message on your Dell Axim. You can record a specific song or any kind of sound. Perhaps a particular person’s voice is more to your liking. Whatever the sound, it’s simple and quick to record it onto your Dell Axim.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Access the voice recording feature of your Dell Axim. On the X5 models this is done by pressing the record button on the side of the device, and on X3 models you’ll press the navigation button on the left.
Step2
Access the Notes function alternatively by using your stylus to open the Notes application and then use it to select the icon shaped like a cassette tape.
Step3
Speak clearly toward your device. You can adjust the microphone recording settings selecting start, then settings, then system and finally microphone.
Step4
Once you’ve recorded your sound, you can use it however you want: as a reminder, as a startup prompt, etc.
Step5
Compress your files to save room on your Dell Axim’s hard drive. The recorded files are .wav by default.

Tips & Warnings

  • If quality is important, say, for an interview or dictation, consider using an auxiliary microphone to enhance the performance of your Dell Axim.
  • Compress your files to the MP3 file format to save space.
