A great way to make your Web page stand out and be more useful is to connect your page to Yahoo! Auctions. All you have to is add a Yahoo! Auction Search Box to your page. Here’s how to add a Yahoo Auction Search Box to your page.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Log onto your Web page. If you are using a GeoCities Web page, use your Yahoo! or GeoCities user name and password to log on.
Step2
Go to the GeoCities Control Panel. Under "Create and Update" click on the "Add-Ons" link.
Step3
Choose "Yahoo! Auction Search" and then "Select Code". The HTML for this will be displayed.
Step4
Copy and paste the html code onto your Web page. Depending on your level of HTML expertise, you may need someone to show you where to paste the code properly.
Step5
Preview your HTML in a browser. If everything looks ok, click "Save" and upload your code using your FTP client. Your page is now updated with a Yahoo! Auctions Search Box.

Tips & Warnings

  • To save time, add the html code to your GeoCities page using the Advanced Editor feature. Simply click the “Go to File Manager” button.
  • What file you choose to paste the html code in will determine where the Yahoo Auction Search Box will be displayed on your site. Be sure to check your page to make sure it is displayed correctly.
  • You can also add a Yahoo GeoCities search box. This lets your visitors search other GeoCities member pages.
  • Be sure to copy the entire html code as is. If you only copy part of it, the Yahoo Auction Search Box will not display correctly.
