When using your HP iPAQ, you can use secure digital cards as storage and as a place to keep backups of your files. If you need to swap out the cards, you will need to remove the card. It is fairly simple to do. Follow these steps to remove a Secure Digital card from an HP iPAQ.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know your device. A little knowledge goes a long way when it comes to your iPAQ. Spend some time looking over your device and paperwork so that you know a bit about your machine before trying to do anything on it.

  2. Step 2

Consult your manual. In knowing your device, your manual is one of your best tools. Take a few minutes to read over the material.

  3. Step 3

Close all the open applications on your iPAQ. You want to make sure that it is safe to remove the card. If you have any programs trying to access the card, it won't be secure.

  4. Step 4

Locate the card slot. On most models of the iPAQ, you will find the card slot on the top of the device. When you have it in your hand, the screen will be facing towards you. Take the hand that you aren't holding the device with and put it on the top of the machine. The card slot should be right in the middle on top. The card will be poking out a little bit.

  5. Step 5

Unlock the card by pushing it down slightly. This will disengage it from the unit. Should you skip this step, the card will not come out.

  6. Step 6

Let the card pop up. Once the card pops out of the slot, you can remove it. You are done.

  • Never force the card. If you are trying to pull the card out or push it back in and it just doesn't want to go, there is something wrong. Make sure you are putting it in the right way. Stop pushing or pulling the card when you feel resistance. You don't want to break the card or your gadget.
