Do you need more space on your Dell axim? The next couple of steps should make it a stress-free job for you. Follow these steps to upgrade the memory in a Dell Axim.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Purchase a memory card that is compatible with your computer. Consult your user’s manual and ask a technician from the store you bought your Dell Axim from.
Step2
Make sure your Axim is completely shut down. Also, be sure that it is unplugged.
Step3
Read your model specific manual. This will explain how to remove the computer’s cover.
Step4
Locate the memory sockets. If the sockets are all full, remove the smaller capacity modules to allow room for a higher capacity module.
Step5
Pick up the memory chip carefully by the sides or top. Do not touch the gold or the silver contacts at the bottom. Any little oil from your fingers may cause interference.
Step6
Place the module into the socket. Make sure that it is completely into the socket.
Step7
Turn your Axim back on. Follow the manual to allow your computer to recognize your new memory card.

Tips & Warnings

  • If unsure about how to do it, it may be necessary for someone to go to your house to install it into your computer. There may be a small fee for this.
  • Make sure to read your model specific manual before doing anything. If you lost it or misplaced it, call the company. They may be able to send one to you.
