Advanced technologies in PocketPCs allow devices like HP iPAQs to beam documents to other devices. If you're new to using the HP iPAQ, you may need assistance in beaming Word documents. Here are some steps on how to beam a Word document to someone on an HP iPAQ.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • HP iPAQ
  1. Step 1

Turn on your HP iPAQ. After the main screen is on, check the status of your battery. If your battery is too low be sure to charge it before you beam any Word document.

  2. Step 2

Open the Word document. Correct any mistakes before saving two copies of the Word document, one copy for beaming and one for future use if necessary.

  3. Step 3

Open the File menu in Word. If there is a Beam option in the file menu you can beam the document to a device this way.

  4. Step 4

Open the Bluetooth program. If step 3 does not work, you can beam your Word document through Bluetooth. Once you’ve opened Bluetooth, find the Beam option and you will then be prompted to select the Word document you wish to beam.

Tips & Warnings
  • Clear the infrared path between the two devices to ensure proper beaming.
  • The Word application on your HP iPAQ has fewer features than the normal version of Microsoft Word and may not transfer to certain devices.
