How to Beam a Word Document to Someone on a Dell Axim

Innovative capabilities with pocket PCs, including the Dell Axim, have advanced communication technologies between pocket devices with infrared beaming. Beaming Word documents may be difficult for new users, but the following steps provide some basic tips on the beaming process. Follow these steps to learn how to beam a word document to someone on a Dell Axim.

Things You'll Need:

  • Dell Axim
  1. Step 1

    Turn on your Dell Axim. Do this by pushing the Power button and looking for the indicator light to begin blinking.

  2. Step 2

    Begin by clicking the Start menu and choosing Programs. Select Word from the list provided.

  3. Step 3

    Open the Word document. Make any corrections necessary to the document and
    save two copies to your Dell Axim; one copy to beam and one to save in case you need it later.

  4. Step 4

    Open the File menu once you are in Word. From the File menu choose the Beam option. Once the Beam option has been chosen the beaming process will begin and your document will be on its way.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you do not have Bluetooth on your Dell Axim, then you may need to install a separate beaming program onto your Dell Axim.
  • The Word application on your Dell Axim is only a scaled down version of the normal Microsoft Word program and might not contain the same functions.
