How to Use MSN Messenger on a Dell Axim

In today’s culture we want to be connected to friends and contacts at all times. One way to do this is through instant messaging, which can be done on many of the latest handheld devices. This way you can chat with your friends and contacts and never have to be more than a push of a button away from them. If you want to use MSN Messenger on a Dell Axim, it is not as difficult as you might think. Follow these steps to use MSN Messenger on a Dell Axim.

  • Internet access
  • Dell Axim
  1. Step 1

    Remove your new Dell Axim from its packaging. Turn it on and connect it to the Internet.

  2. Step 2

    Log on to Microsoft’s Web site (see below) in order to download security software. Follow the Web site’s instructions to do this correctly.

  3. Step 3

    Find the MSN Messenger program on your Dell Axim. It should already be installed on your device.

  4. Step 4

    Create an MSN Messenger account or log in to an already existing account. You can do this by clicking on either the Sign Up link or the Sign In link, whichever one applies to you.

  5. Step 5

    Add contacts to your Messenger List. Contacts are people that you need to stay connected to and people you want to instant message. You can do this by clicking on the Add Contacts option and entering the screen names of your contacts.

  6. Step 6

    Double-click on a contact to begin instant messaging. You can send a message that the person will receive within seconds.

  7. Step 7

    Enjoy chatting with your friends and contacts wherever you go. You can send and receive messages in a matter of seconds.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are other options for instant messaging available for your Dell Axim. Many of them, however, will need to be downloaded and installed by you. They do not come pre-installed on your device.
  • Your conversations and messages are logged until you disconnect from MSN Messenger.
  • Be hesitant of chatting or instant messaging with people you do not know. Some hackers can install viruses on your Dell Axim through instant messages.
  • Do not give out any of your personal information over an instant messenger service. You do not know who can get access to it.
