To use the Google toolbar to post to Blogger you will first need an account at Blogger.com and a blog set up there. Blogger is free and it is very easy to get your blog set up; just follow the on-site instructions. You will also need to download the Google toolbar. This is also free and only takes a couple of minutes at most. Once you have the toolbar installed on your computer, you can start posting to your blog at Blogger following these simple steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Open your browser window where the Google toolbar is installed.
Step2
Open the Web page you want to post on Blogger or where the information is you want to post.
Step3
On the Google toolbar click on "Send to."
Step4
On the drop-down list click on "Blogger," and a new window will open with a link to the page you are posting or the text you are going to post to Blogger.
Step5
Select from the drop-down menu in the right-hand corner which blog you want this post posted to, if you have more than one blog at Blogger
Step6
Click on "Publish Post." You should now get a page with the message "Your blog published successfully."
Step7
Click on "View blog" to see your new post or close this window and continue surfing the Web.

Tips & Warnings

  • Posting an entire page to Blogger will only post the title of the page linked to that page; it doesn't actually show the entire page on your blog.
  • To post only a portion of a Web page, simply highlight the section you want to post. This will post the page title linked to the page and the highlighted text.
  • If you don't want to download the Google toolbar, there is also a free program available for MS Word that allows you to create posts for your Blogger blog and post directly from Word. You do still need an account and blog set up at Blogger.
  • Posting to Blogger with the Google toolbar does not work with Netscape 4.
  • If you are using a version of Internet Explorer older than IE 5, posting to Blogger will not work.
