Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Make sure the synchronization software on your PC is running. Double-click on the icon or open it from the “Start” menu. Without the synchronization software running, you will not be able to begin the procedure.
Step2
Plug your PocketPC into your desktop or laptop via a USB cord. Your PocketPC will have a place for one end of the plug and the other end will plug into your home computer.
Step3
Use your docking station if you prefer. Many users who own laptops have a docking station that their PocketPC can be plugged into rather than using a USB cord. A docking station is simply a device that reduces the number of connections needed to hook up numerous devices to a laptop.
Step4
Allow time for the PC to “talk” to the PocketPC. This could take several moments. It is very important for the PC to have time to recognize the device, though.
Step5
Begin the synchronization from the PocketPC if you are connected via a USB cable.
Step6
Wait for completion of synchronization. Depending on the amount of data, this could take several minutes.
Step7
Notice that your data is now on both devices: your PocketPC and your home computer. This is how you know the synchronization is finished.
Step8
Unplug the PocketPC from the USB cable according to your computer’s “plug-and-play” guidelines. This will prevent loss of data.
