The PocketPC handheld makes sending and receiving email just as easy as it is on your desktop. The interface is similar on both versions of MS Outlook, so there is a familiarity when you start to send email using a Pocket PC. Follow these steps to send email using a PocketPC.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • PocketPC
  1. Step 1

Decide on whether or not you want your PocketPC handheld to be configured to your MS Outlook account, or to another email server.

  2. Step 2

Click on the "MS Outlook" icon on your desktop. This will launch your email screen and let you access your inbox.

  3. Step 3

Open the Inbox, and choose an email. When you open this email you can hit "Reply To" in the top left portion of the screen. Or, you can choose the "Compose" option, which will create a new untitled and unaddressed message.

  4. Step 4

Write your message in the body of the email.

  5. Step 5

Type an easily identifiable word or sentence in the subject line. This will make your email recognizable.

  6. Step 6

Access the spell check option in Outlook. This is located in the "Tools" option in the tool bar on top of the screen.

  7. Step 7

Hit the "Send" button in the upper left corner of the message.

  8. Step 8

Confirm your email was sent successfully.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can check the "Sent" mail box on the left panel to confirm the email has been delivered.
  • You don't have to add a subject to the email, but the system will ask if you want to add one.
  • Using another email server than MS Outlook will require you to add it in the "Pocket Inbox" feature in the Pocket PC email program.
  • Email is sent out under your name, so make sure your email is being sent to the appropriate party with the appropriate information.
