The HP iPAQ handheld makes sending and receiving email just as easy as it is on your desktop. The interface is similar on both versions of MS Outlook, so there is a familiarity when you start to send email on an HP iPAQ. Follow these steps to email on an HP iPAQ.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • HP iPAQ

Step1
Note which email service you use and find that icon on the desktop of your HP iPAQ.
Step2
Open your Inbox from your email screen to select a message, or click on “Compose” at the top left of the screen.
Step3
Type in the address of the recipient to whom you wish to write.
Step4
Create the message by typing it in the body of the email.
Step5
Title your message in the “Subject” line of the email.
Step6
Run spell-check on your email. The email will note misspellings by underlining them in red.
Step7
Click on “Send” in the upper left corner of the message.
Step8
Look for confirmation from your email that the message was sent successfully. You can also check the “Sent” mail box on the left panel to confirm the email has been delivered.

Tips & Warnings

  • A subject is not necessary to send an email, but you will be prompted to add one.
  • Remember there are two options when replying to an email, “Reply” and “Reply All.” Use “Reply” when you only have one recipient, and “Reply All” when using two or more.
  • Check your connection settings and your office administrator to make sure your email can be received when your HP iPAQ is not in its cradle.
  • Spell check will find mistakes, but does not necessarily choose replacement words that are appropriate for the sentence.
