Download and install the ActiveSync software onto your personal computer or the device you will use to load software onto your Dell Axim. You can get this program from Microsoft's Web site (see Resources).

Be certain that your Dell Axim has enough memory to support the software applications that you want to load. Without sufficient memory, your handheld device will not run properly.

Connect the Dell Axim to your personal computer or laptop. You can do this either through a USB cord or via a docking device.

Allow the "Setup Wizard" on your computer to guide you through the installation of your handheld device. Your computer must recognize the device's hardware or it will not be able to transfer information and data.

Double click the "My Computer" icon to open the folder. A new icon that reads "Mobile Device" should appear. This will allow your computer to access your Dell Axim.

Select the software that you want to transfer from your computer to your handheld device. Click on the application.

Drag and drop the selected files to your device. You probably will have to highlight and drag and drop each one individually.

Unplug your handheld device from your computer after you are finished. Follow your computer's guidelines for safely removing hardware from the USB.
