The Treo Smartphone has a great feature called VersaMail that lets you automatically download your email to your device with the push of a few buttons. Here's how.

Step1

Turn on your Treo Smartphone by pressing the "Power" button. Press the middle "Center" key on the keyboard. This will disable the key guard protection.

Step2

Press the "Mail" button. This will take you to the screen where you can enter your email settings.

Step3

Open the "Menus" folder by double clicking it with the stylus or the keypad. From there, select the "Accounts" option and then the "Manage" option. You can perform either task by tapping the screen with the stylus or pressing the appropriate key on the keypad.

Step4

Select the "New" option from that list, and then select the email provider from which you want to automatically download email.

Step5

Enter a name for this account in the box provided. For example, "My Yahoo! Email" would make a good descriptive name. After naming the account, you then must enter the user name and password for the account.

Step6

Select "Next" on that screen's menu. Use either the stylus or the keypad to perform this task.

Step7

Begin downloading your email messages from this account by selecting "Sync Now" from the screen's menu. Or, select "Sync Later" to download the messages in the future.

Tips & Warnings

You can add other email accounts to your downloads by repeating this process and then, in Step 4, selecting "Other POP" in the "New" options. Proceed as instructed.
Unread email messages that you download onto your Treo Smartphone will appear in bold for quick recognition.
Be wary of opening email messages with attachments, especially those from an unfamiliar source. These could contain viruses that can harm your device.
Make sure that your settings are correct. If your alerts are off, you will not hear anything when a new message arrives.
