If your HG iPAQ continually crashes, you don't have to run off to a professional for repairs or servicing. First follow these steps to see if you can't correct the issue yourself.
Use a memory card or a backup program to store your programs, applications and files (see Related eHows).
Step3
Do a “hard reset” on your HP iPAQ by gently pressing your stylus into the indented button on the side of your device. Simultaneously hold down the "Power" button on the keypad. This will delete your data.
Step4
Turn off your HP iPAQ for a few minutes.
Step5
Turn your HP iPAQ back on. Begin reinstalling your programs and applications separately. Before installing subsequent applications, run each one as it is installed. If your HP iPAQ crashes while running it, remove the offending program or application.
Step6
Repeat this procedure until you have reviewed each program and application, eliminating any that cause crashes.
Tips & Warnings
Sometimes, the problem can be fixed by simply running an anti-virus program on your HP iPAQ, but this only works if it has contracted a virus. Try this first, because it can save time.
Two incompatible programs running simultaneously often cause crashes. The trial and error method is usually the only way to fix this problem.
Do not back up your files onto your personal computer or laptop. If a virus is causing the problem, you will only transfer the virus to your other computer.
Do not download programs or files from unfamiliar sources.
