How to Beam a Document to Someone on a Dell Axim

You can use Bluetooth to quickly transfer files between PDA devices. Here is how to use it to beam files to someone on a Dell Axim.

Things You'll Need:

  • Dell Axim
  1. Step 1

    Enable Bluetooth. Press the button on the right that enables both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Do this on both devices.

  2. Step 2

    Choose a file for beaming. Browse through folders until you locate the file you want to send.

  3. Step 3

    Tap and hold the file name until a menu appears. Click on “Beam File.”

  4. Step 4

    Select a recipient. A list of available Bluetooth devices should appear. Select the recipient and beaming should begin.

  5. Step 5

    Explore another device. Open the "Bluetooth Manager." Tap “New," and then select “Explore a Bluetooth Device.” Tap “Next.”

  6. Step 6

    Select the PDA you want to access. You should receive a list of all Bluetooth devices. Select one and hit “Next.”

  7. Step 7

    Accept on the other PDA. A dialog box should pop up. Select “OBEX FILE TRANSFER” and click "Next."

  8. Step 8

    Use the shortcut. This will create shortcuts to file transfers on both PDAs. To transfer files, simply run the shortcut and select a file to beam.

Tips & Warnings
  • Bluetooth doesn’t require a line of sight, but for best results point the upper left corners of the devices at each other.
  • You can connect to desktop computers and mobile phones with Bluetooth technology using the same method.
  • Beware of viruses! Only exchange files with people you trust.
