How to Change a Web Page Description in the Yahoo! Member Pages Directory

Your Web page description appears below your Web site's URL in the results of a search engine query. Changing that description keeps your site current. Follow these steps to change a Web page description in the Yahoo! Member Pages Directory.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Yahoo! account
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Yahoo! GeoCities home page with the Member Pages Directory (see Resources, below). From here you will be able to edit your Web page and its description.

  2. Step 2

    Click the “Edit” button in the “My Listings” section of the home page. This will take you to a listing of all of the Web pages that you have with the service.

  3. Step 3

    Find the page that you want to change and click “Edit.” You will be taken to an editing screen.

  4. Step 4

    Write your new description in the editing screen. Make sure that you are working on the right page and have a good listing in mind.

  5. Step 5

    Click “Finish.” This will save the changes to your Web page.

  • Make sure that your description represents your Web site.
  • Use action words in the description.
