How to make Chocolate Rice Cakes

Things You'll Need

  • a large bowl
  • box of rice pops cereal
  • one or two bars of quality dark chocolate
  • a saucepan
  • a plate or a smaller bowl
  • some muffin or cake cases
  • chocolate sprinkles (optional)
  • Smarties™ (optional)

Instructions

      Melt the chocolate on a plate or in a smaller bowl on top of a pan of simmering water.

      When it's all melted, put into the large bowl.

      Add in the rice pops. Mix well until all the rice pops are coated with the chocolate.

      Slowly (and carefully) pour the mixture into about 12 cases. If you want to add sprinkles and Smarties™, do that now.

      Place into the fridge for 30 minutes approx. and they're done!

Tips & Warnings

  • Try and use the best chocolate you can for this recipe. You shouldn't use something too rich and creamy as this will become too sweet.

  • You can always use Cornflakes as an alternative to rice pops.

  • Don't add too much chocolates on top of the cakes if you want them all to be eaten.

  • Don't microwave the chocolate. There's always a risk of it burning - and you don't want your house smelling for when the guests arrive!

  • Never leave a small child unattended in the kitchen.
