Your HP iPAQ hand-held with Windows Mobile 5.0 lets you listen to music, watch videos, surf the Internet and work with Microsoft Office applications. Everything you need to recharge the battery on your iPAQ is included in the box when you purchase your Pocket PC. Read on to learn how to recharge the battery on an HP iPAQ.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • USB cradle
  • HP iPAQ
Step1
Locate the AC adapter and charging adapter for your HP iPAQ (one was included in the box when you bought it). If you can’t find the original AC adapter, you can easily purchase another AC adapter that is compatible with your Pocket PC.
Step2
Attach the charging adapter to the plug on the AC adapter.
Step3
Insert the charging adapter into the slot at the bottom of your iPAQ.
Step4
Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet.
Step5
Allow your Pocket PC to charge until the power indicator at the top of the iPAQ turns orange. This lets you know that your hand-held is fully charged.
Step6
Disconnect your iPAQ from the AC adapter.
Step7
Recharge the battery using the Desktop Cradle. Plug the AC adapter into an outlet and connect the adapter plug to the cradle.
Step8
Plug the USB connector cable on the Desktop Cradle into a USB port on your home computer.
Step9
Slip your HP iPAQ onto the cradle. You will know it’s correctly placed if the power indicator at the top of the Pocket PC lights up.
Step10
Allow your hand-held to charge until the power indicator turns orange.

Tips & Warnings

  • To conserve battery life, keep your HP iPAQ connected to an AC power source whenever you’re not using it.
  • If you are frequently on the go, you might want to consider buying an AC adapter that plugs into your car’s 12-volt power outlet or cigarette lighter.
  • Most of the applications and information on your Pocket PC are stored in RAM memory, so if you let your battery completely run out, or remove it from the iPAQ for an extended period, you may need to reinstall some things.
  • If you’re using an AC adapter other than the one that was included in the box when you bought your iPAQ, make sure that the adapter is HP-recommended.
