However, it is important that your iPAQ be very dependable. This means keeping it powered up as much as possible, sometimes by replacing the battery on the device. Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • HP iPAQ
  • Stylus
Step1
Make sure that the HP iPAQ is switched off.
Step2
Take hold of the release catch at the bottom of the unit and toggle it downwards.
Step3
Lift up and remove the battery cover.
Step4
Position the battery so that its right side is pressed against the right interior wall of the battery well.
Step5
Slide the left side of the battery into the well until it clicks into place.
Step6
Press the upper part of the battery cover into the upper rim of the battery well.
Step7
Click the bottom of the cover into place so that it is locked tight.

Tips & Warnings

  • The HP iPAQ comes equipped with an internal backup battery. This small battery makes it possible to replace the iPAQ main battery without losing user settings and RAM data if the replacement is done within fifteen minutes.
  • Removal of the main battery does initiate a soft reset, which means you should save your work before you replace the battery.
  • The iPAQ’s internal battery should only be handled by an HP-authorized technician.
  • You are advised to keep the main battery constantly charged up using an authorized power adapter or the HP Desktop Cradle.
