How to Install eReader on a Palm Tungsten E2

eReader enables you to read eReader.com eBooks on your Palm Tungsten E2. eReader is the only program capable of reading eReader.com’s eBook format, as eReader.com encrypts its books to protect the authors’ work. Installing eReader on your Palm Tungsten E2 is a fast and simple process. Follow these steps to learn how to install eReader on a Palm Tungsten E2.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Palm Tungsten E2
Step1
Install the Palm Desktop tool bundled with your Palm Tungsten E2 on your computer. Depending on your operating system also install WinZip (Windows 95/98/NT/2000) or StuffIt Expander (Macintosh).
Step2
Download eReader from the eReader Web site. eReader’s installation files are provided in a Zip archive. Unzip these files onto your computer in an easily accessible folder.
Step3
Run the "Palm Desktop" tool on your computer. On the left side of the application window, you will see “Install”. Click on “Install”.
Step4
A dialog box will pop up. Click “Add”.
Step5
Open the folder where you stored your unzipped files. Select and double-click on eReader.prc. Click “Done”. Then click “OK”.
Step6
Repeat steps three to four. Return to the folder where you stored your unzipped files. Select the first file ending with ".pdb" and double-click on it. All files ending with the .pdb extension are book files. Click “Done”. Then click “OK.”
Step7
Repeat step six for each .pdb file you see. Ensure you have installed and added all the books listed.
Step8
Connect your Palm Tungsten E2 to your computer with its bundled USB Sync Cable. Remember to connect your Palm Tungsten E2 to its AC adapter to power it up.
Step9
HotSync with your Palm Tungsten E2. Click on the "eReader" logo found on the main page of your Palm Tungsten E2 to launch the program.

Tips & Warnings

  • The first time you launch eReader, it will appear under “Unfiled” applications.
  • Apart from its own format, eReader is also capable of reading other hand-held document formats such as files ending in .doc, .pdb or .prc.
  • eReader supports books in older formats including PeanutReader, Palm Reader and Secure Palm format books.
  • eReader is the only program capable of reading books downloaded from eReader.com. Other ebook readers will not be able to read the same books.
