Adding links to your GeoCities Web site is the finishing touch in the creation process. With Yahoo! PageWizards, most of the work is done for you. All you need is the addresses of a few sites that you want to show the visitors to your page. Follow these steps to create links to pages created with Yahoo! PageWizards.

Internet access
Computer
Yahoo! account

Step1

Enter a name for the links section in the box provided, otherwise the title “My Favorite Links” will be displayed on the page.

Step2

Name the link that you want to add to your site. This is what people will see when they visit your page, so make the name clear and descriptive.

Step3

Preview the link name on your site by clicking on the “Preview” button. Note any changes that need to be made and click out of the preview window.

Step4

Type the complete URL of the page that you want to link to in the link address box. Finish out the rest of PageWizard to save the information.

Step5

Visit your site and click on the link names that you established. If they do not take you where you want to go, you’ll need to go back through the PageWizard to fix the problem.

Tips & Warnings

Double-check URLs. The most common problem when creating a link is misspelling or otherwise mangling the address which results in a page not found message. Use copy-paste to eliminate this problem.
Keep links on your site current. Follow your links from time to time and make sure that the pages still exist at that Internet location. Prune dead links and update URLs for pages that have moved.
Go to the source. Do not create a link to a page that re-directs you to another page and yet another before delivering up the goods. Cut the middlemen whenever possible.
Be considerate of your visitors’ tastes and sensibilities when including links.
