How to Set Up a Favorite Button on a Treo Smartphone

You can customize your Treo Smartphone by using several of the favorite buttons such as speed dial, application favorites, messaging and call log. You can even set favorite buttons to link to your favorite Web sites. Read on to learn how to set up a favorite button on a Treo Smartphone.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Treo Smartphone
Step1
Press the "Phone" button to bring up the phone dialer window.
Step2
Use the navigational key to select an empty favorite button.
Step3
Set "Speed Dial."
Step4
Enter a label for the speed dial.
Step5
Press the "Look Up" button to select a record from your address book or enter a number in the fields.
Step6
Click "Done" and test out your newly created speed dial number.

Tips & Warnings

  • For speed dial buttons you can set a "Quick key." This is a number that you can press and hold on the main screen to dial a contact.
  • You can create different types of favorite buttons such as email, call log and Web link.
  • Create an email favorite button for a number of different email addresses. This is a quick and easy way to send an email to a group of people.
  • Create a Web link to your favorite Web sites. This is easier than typing in a Web address every time.
  • Edit an existing button by selecting the button with the navigational key. Press the "Menu" key and select the "Edit Favorites" button.
