A Palm TX boasts of high media capabilities, making it a great place to store some of your videos. However, not all videos have a format that might be compatible to the Palm TX. In order to find out if they’re compatible, it is best to consult the user’s manual. Follow these steps to find out which video formats are supported on a Palm TX.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Palm TX

Step1
Go to the Palm Web site. This is the manufacturer’s site, which has links to the user manuals.
Step2
Select the “Support” button towards the top of the page. In the search box on the left-hand side of the screen, type in the words “Video format.”
Step3
Click on the third linked title that appears, “Photos, Videos, and Music.” This may take a few minutes to load.
Step4
Scroll down to the tenth page, titled “Video.” Read the last full paragraph at the bottom with the heading “Convert, transfer, and play video clips.”
Step5
Observe that the program installed on your Palm TX, the Kinoma Producer, this program can convert videos from AVI, DV, MPEG, and QuickTime [MOV] formats. The program will then convert the file into the format the Palm TX recognizes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consult your user’s manual first. The information will be easily accessible.
  • Read the user’s manual online if you cannot find the paper copy that your Palm TX came with.
  • Download a video and look at the file name. The letters after the period after the title will tell you what format it is, such as video1.mpeg.
  • Don’t download any videos from any source that you are unsure about. This may infect your Palm TX with a virus.
