How to Install eReader on a Palm PDA

eReader enables you to read eReader.com eBooks on your Palm PDA. eReader is the only program capable of reading eReader.com’s eBook format, as eReader.com encrypts its books to protect the authors’ work. Installing eReader on your Palm PDA is a fast and simple process. Follow these steps to learn how to install eReader on a Palm PDA.

Things You’ll Need:

• AC adapter
• Internet access
• Computer
• Palm PDA
• USB sync cable

1. Install the Palm Desktop tool bundled with your Palm PDA on your computer. Depending on your operating system, also install either WinZip (Windows 95/98/NT/2000) or StuffIt Expander (Macintosh).
2. Download eReader from eReader.com. eReader’s installation files are provided in a zip archive. Unzip these files onto your computer in an easily accessible folder.
3. Run the Palm Desktop tool on your computer. On the left side of the application window, you will click on Install.
4. A dialog box will pop up. Click Add.
5. Open the folder where you stored your unzipped files. Select and double-click on eReader.prc. Click Done, then click OK.
6. Repeat steps 3 to 4. Return to the folder where you stored your unzipped files. Select the first file ending with .pdb and double-click on it. All files ending with the .pdb extension are book files. Click Done, then click OK.
7. Repeat step 6 for each .pdb file you see. Ensure you have installed and added all the books listed.
8. Connect your Palm PDA to your computer with its bundled USB Sync Cable. Remember to connect your Palm PDA to its AC adapter to power it up.
9. HotSync with your Palm PDA. Click on the eReader logo found on the main page of your Palm PDA to launch the program.

Tips & Warnings

• The first time you launch eReader, it will appear under Unfiled applications.
• eReader supports books in older formats like Peanut Reader format, Palm Reader format, and Secure Palm format books.
• Apart from its own format, eReader is also capable of reading other handheld document formats like files ending in .doc, .pdb or .prc.
• eReader for the Palm OS will only work on the Palm OS operating system. Different versions of eReader are available for different operating systems. Make sure you download the right version for the Palm OS.
• eReader is the only program capable of reading books downloaded from eReader.com. Other eBook readers will not be able to read the same books.
