How to Add a Yahoo! Map to Your GeoCities Web Page
The Geocities component of Yahoo! is like an early version of the MySpace online community. It gives you a chance to create a page all your own. You can use any of the many options available to customize pages and create a unique profile. You can even add a Yahoo! map to your Geocities web page with little effort.

Log on to your Yahoo! Geocities web page. Generally, you will need to enter your Yahoo! username and password to log on.

Click on the Geocities Control Panel link. This will take you to another screen where you can begin to set up your Yahoo! search box.

Click on the Add-ons link from the Create and Update tab. This will give you another screen of options.

Choose Maps from this screen. From there, enter the address of the map you want to create.

Click the button that says Generate Code. This will produce an HTML code for your Yahoo! Map.

Highlight and select the HTML code given. You can do this by clicking the left button of the mouse and dragging it over the selection. You can also simply click the Select Code button next to the code to highlight it.

Go back to your Geocities web page. Paste the HTML code into the area of the page you want the new Yahoo! Map to appear.

Tips & Warnings
You can also add other maps to your Geocities page. Repeat the steps above and place the maps in different sections of the page.
Maps are handy for visitors to your page if it gives a location of your business or your home. They can get directions directly from your Geocities page.
To remove the map, simply go to your Geocities setup page and remove the HTML code that you previously entered. This should remove the map from your page.
If you do not copy the HTML code exactly as it appears, the map will not show up on your Geocities web page.
You can only install Yahoo! based components on your Geocities web page because it is a Yahoo! based service.
