You can connect an external monitor to an iBook. An external monitor gives you the facility of video mirroring. Video mirroring allows you to view the desktop on both the monitors–the laptop’s internal monitor as well as the external monitor. Moreover, you can simply use a larger and higher resolution monitor with the iBook, which has a smaller internal display. Here’s how you can connect an external monitor with an iBook.

From Quick Guide: Apple iBook for Beginners

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Plug in the monitor's power cable and switch it on.

  2. Step 2

Connect one end of the VGA display adapter (included with all standard monitors) to the external monitor port of your iBook.

  3. Step 3

Connect the other end of the VGA adapter to the external monitor. The iBook automatically detects the monitor. Your monitor is now ready to use.
