The eReader application available on Palm Z22 PDAs allows you to save and read full-length books on your PDA. By using the eReader software your Z22 already provides, you can download a variety of books and read them at your leisure. The application itself does not take much memory, and keeping the title you are currently reading on hand along with all the other tools you use daily on a PDA is possible. Follow these steps to use eReader on a Palm Z22.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Palm Z22
  1. Step 1

Check out your Z22’s available memory (350 kb of free memory is needed, plus more for each book you wish to download).

  2. Step 2

Confirm on your Z22 that you have a working version of eReader. One comes with its basic software package.

  3. Step 3

Read over the specifications of the eReader Pro upgrade, which ranges in price from $14.95 to $22.95. Note how much you would want to read on your PDA to help determine whether or not you should buy the Pro version of eReader.

  4. Step 4

Transfer the eReader files from your computer to your Z22. Run a search on the Internet for eBooks and choose a book you would like to read. Back up eBooks on your computer hard drive in case you wish to read them again later.

  5. Step 5

Purchase that book and HotSync it to your Z22. Save the confirmation number of each book purchase in case you don’t receive it.

  6. Step 6

Launch the eReader application from your Z22, using the “Open” option.

Tips & Warnings
  • Often, your confirmation number will be the credit card with which you purchased the book. You will need this number the first time you open your book on your Z22.
  • Look online for legal freeware books.
  • Each book and software update uses more memory on your PDA.
