Uploading personal photos onto your GeoCities Web site lets you include pictures of the people, places and things that make your life worth sharing in the first place. With Yahoo! PageBuilder, you can easily upload and use pictures by following a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Yahoo! account
  1. Step 1

Open Yahoo! PageBuilder, the program you use to create and edit your Web page. Find the PageBuilder icon or open it from the Programs list.

  2. Step 2

Among the dozen icons on the toolbar at the top of the PageBuilder screen, find the button that says “Pictures." Click that button and the “Select Picture” screen will open.

  3. Step 3

Near the middle of the “Select Picture” screen, you will find brief instructions on beginning the picture uploading process. To the right of these instructions is the “Upload” button. Click that button and the “Upload Image” window will open.

  4. Step 4

Locate the Upload Image window. In this window, you will be asked to click the “Browse” button. Clicking this button will allow you to search your computer's files for the picture you wish to upload.

  5. Step 5

Locate the photo you wish to upload by searching through directories and folders. If you don’t know where to look, try searching through the “My Documents” and “My Pictures” folders. When you find the photo you wish to upload, double click it or single click it and hit "Enter" or the “Open” button. You will be taken back to Upload Image window, but this time the white blank will be filled with the name and location of the photo you chose. Hit the “Upload” button on the bottom of the window.

  6. Step 6

Click and Drag. The picture will now be in the center of the page and you can simply drag it into place by clicking it and dragging it into the text box.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is a good idea to save your Web page’s look and design before making any changes, especially if the Yahoo! PageBuilder program is still new to you. If you were to make an unwanted change or if the computer were to freeze during the upload, your page would not be lost.
  • Locate your picture before you even begin Step One. Knowing exactly where your photo is stored on your computer will make things easier.
  • Before uploading a photograph of another person to a Web page, make sure that you have that person's permission.
