2. Determine international calling rates. Within the Skype Web site, there are international rates for every country in the world. These rates are listed in cents per minute according to the country and phone line listed.

3. Determine the approximate length of your call. This will help you estimate the amount of Skype credits needed to fulfill your desired length of time using the SkypeOut service.

4. Purchase Skype credits. This can be done online with a credit card through your Skype. For new members, there may be a limit of Skype credits you can purchase.

Tips & Warnings

• Purchase more Skype credits than you need if you are unsure of the estimated price. This is wise in case you converse longer than you planned. Skype credits last up to 180 days after your last connected phone call.

• Skype credits allow you to make SkypeOut calls, purchase a SkypeIn subscription or purchase avatars and ring tones to personalize your Skype account.
