The Palm Z22 is an entry-level handheld device, but it offers a good range of functions and a long battery life. The Palm Z22 is great for reading eBooks. Follow these steps to learn how to download eBooks to read on a Palm Z22.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Palm Z22

Step1
Using your Internet browser, go to the Palm eBook Store (see link below). Sign in as an existing user or create an account. A valid email address and credit card number are required to create an account.
Step2
Find eBooks using the search function or browse titles by author or subject. Click on an eBook’s title link to view its description.
Step3
Click on “Add to Cart” to buy the eBook. Then click on “Go to Checkout” and complete the shopping process. On finishing checkout, click “OK” to download. The eBook will download in a Zip file.
Step4
Uncompress the downloaded file using a program like WinZip (Windows) or StuffIt Expander (Mac).
Step5
Run Palm Desktop on the computer, then drag and drop the uncompressed eBook file to Quick Install (Windows) or the Send to Handheld droplet (Mac).
Step6
Synchronize the Palm Z22 with your computer to copy the eBook to your handheld.
Step7
Run eReader on your Palm Z22 and choose the downloaded eBook from the list of titles.
Step8
Enter your name and unlock code—the credit card number you used for your account—to activate the eBook for viewing on your device.

Tips & Warnings

  • To view eBooks on your Palm Z22, you need eReader software. It comes with the Palm Z22 Install CD. Just run the CD to add the software
  • If you do not have eReader installed, you can choose to download eReader along with your eBook file. This option is available when making your purchase from the Palm eBook Store.
  • After downloading the eBook Zip file, uncompress it to your desktop or top folder. Do not uncompress it to a folder with a long directory path. The Palm may not be able to synchronize files located in a folder with a long directory path.
