One of the reason to host a Web page is to interact with people. Visitors to your Web page will have the ability to offer constructive criticism, praise and feedback. It is important to give your visitors a way to communicate with you. Adding an email link to a Web page with Yahoo! PageBuilder is really quite simple. Follow these steps to add an email link to a page using Yahoo! PageBuilder.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Yahoo! account
  1. Step 1

Open Yahoo! PageBuilder. This is the program you use to create and edit your Web page. Find the PageBuilder icon or open it from the Programs list.

  2. Step 2

Locate the “Text” button in the toolbar at the top of the PageBuilder screen. Click that button and a text box will open.

  3. Step 3

Find the Text box. In the top of the text box, type whatever words you would like to be the link that people click on to access your email address. “Contact Me!” or “My Email” are standard choices.

  4. Step 4

Format the title text. By dragging the cursor over the link, you can highlight it. Once it is highlighted, you can format the text in the font toolbar located below the large icons at the top of the page. Using the font toolbar, change the title, “My Links,” to the Arial, size 14 font. Then click the large “B” button to bold the title text.

  5. Step 5

Add the links. By dragging the cursor over the link, you can highlight each listed word. After highlighting “Contact Me!,” for example, click the “Link” button at the top of the screen. This will open a Hot Link screen that will allow you to type in the email address that will be linked with the phrase, “Contact Me!”

  6. Step 6

Use the Hot Link screen. Once you are on the Hot Link screen, click “Web URL” on the left side of the screen. On the right side of the “Hot Link” screen, you will find a text window to type your email address in. Shape and position the text box that contains the link to your email address.

Tips & Warnings
  • Position your email link where your visitors can easily find it.
  • If you have more than one email address, decide which one you would like to use for your Web page.
  • It is probably not a good idea to link your work email. You do not want your office inbox to fill with random messages from strangers.
  • Protect yourself. Do not give away personal information to strangers while communicating via email.
