The functions of today’s PDAs vary greatly. One new function is reading an eBook. Did you know that you can use PDAs to read and store anything from simple documents to entire books? Whether on a plane, in bed or at the office, you can read by simply turning on your handheld device. Follow these steps to learn how to read an eBook on a PDA.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • PDA
Step1
Choose eBook software. Ideally, select a program that will convert files from formats you cannot read into formats you can read. These programs include Quickword, WordSmith and Acrobat Reader.
Step2
Download eBooks directly from your computer onto your handheld PDA. Once they are on your PDA, you can open them.
Step3
Open your PDA eBook using the reading software you installed. From the menu, select an eBook you would like to read.
Step4
Turn the pages using one of several methods. You can simply tap the screen, use the Page Up/Page Down buttons, use the keyboard or use auto-scroll.
Step5
Go back to “Open” in the menu to open any other documents you would like to read.

  • Research different reading software programs before selecting one that best suits your needs.
  • Reference your user’s manual for tips and details to fine-tune your reading software.
  • When buying or downloading an eBook, make certain that it is a compatible file, or that the file can be converted.
