Instructions

    • 1

Visit the Yahoo! GeoCities homepage to sign up for a free Web site. Click the "Sign Up Now" button that matches the plan you want. You will be guided through the sign-up process.

    • 2

Determine which module you want to collapse or expand. On the homepage, next to the title of the main module on your tab pages, you'll find a small arrow that you'll use to collapse or expand the module. Click the arrow once to collapse a module you rarely use.

    • 3

Find orientation topics on the homepage, which include Breadcrumb, Trail, Tabs, Help and Service Announcements. Click any of these links for instructions.

    • 4

Look over the homepage and find the Control Panel overview.

    • 5

Notice that the Control Panel is organized into a series of tabs, each consisting of modules. The module groups have related features aimed at keeping you organized. At the top of each page, there are familiar links to all GeoCities pages, plus service announcements and other useful tools.

    • 6

The Service Announcements at the top of your Control Panel will alert you whenever there are changes in the system. Click there for more info.

    • 7

Always remember that the Control Panel tabs organize your tools by function. Each is broken down into a Group or a Task. Home is your source for general site info. Create & Update is where to find site building, file management, editing and other tools.
