  • Dell Axim
  1. Step 1

  2. Step 2

Locate the battery latch—a sliding button that locks and unlocks the battery cover—at the rear of the unit.

  3. Step 3

Press the tip of the stylus against the latch button. Toggle the latch to the “unlock” position. This will free the battery cover for easy removal.

  4. Step 4

Slide out or raise the cover to expose the replaceable battery.

  5. Step 5

Press the battery down lightly to make it slide out of the battery well. In some models, check the left side of the battery for a flap or pull-tab. Then pull the battery out until it has been released from the battery well.

Tips & Warnings
  • The X5 model is equipped with a lithium CR2032 backup battery. Prior to first use, make sure that you have installed both batteries and that the main battery has been fully charged for no fewer than 4 hours.
  • It is advisable to attach the Dell Axim to a power outlet when one is available to help keep the main battery charged.
  • The main battery will charge while the Dell Axim is on the cradle and connected to a working computer.
  • The main battery and the backup battery should not be removed simultaneously. This could cause the Dell Axim to lose data.
  • If you must replace both the main battery and the backup, first remove and reinstall the main battery.
