Dell introduced its series of Personal Digital Assistants in 2002 with X5. Then came X3, X30, X50 and X51. X30 was the first in the series to offer Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. The Dell Axim X50 and X51 have many added features, like Compact Flash expansion slot and Secure Digital expansion slot. There is also standard built-in Bluetooth. X51 differs in that it has Windows Mobile 5 instead of Windows Mobile 2003. Follow these steps to change the display of Dell Axim to landscape view.

  1. Step 1

Use the Screen control panel applet in order to change the display from portrait to landscape. The X30 series runs on Windows Mobile 2003 SE.

  2. Step 2

Remember that this change does not need a soft reset. The device can be run in two modes: left-hand or right-hand landscape mode.

  3. Step 3

Use the Menu. This is the menu path for changing the display: Start > Settings > System > Screen > General. After this you can select right- or left-handed landscape and then click on "OK."

  4. Step 4

In the X50 and X51 series, the VGA is four times stronger in resolution. Hence the screen quality is better.
