How to Upload an Image With Yahoo! PageWizards

The PageWizards tool on Yahoo! GeoCities allows users to easily post a free Web site on the Internet. This tool offers a host of options—including the ability to upload an image—to make your site look snappy. You can add text, images and hyperlinks to your personal Web space with the click of a mouse.

Things You’ll Need:

• Internet access
• Computer
• Yahoo! account

1. Connect to the Internet. In order to access, create or edit your page using Yahoo! PageWizards, you must be online.
2. Log into your Yahoo! account. Yahoo! prohibits you from launching PageWizards or opening your Web page unless you first log into their system with your Yahoo! ID and password.
3. Launch PageWizards. Visit the Yahoo! GeoCities Web site (see link below), and click on the picture of the template you like.
4. Create a new page or open a page you created earlier. Follow the onscreen commands in the PageWizard dialog box until you reach the page “Pick your picture.”
5. Select a picture you have already uploaded to Yahoo! under the heading “Pick from your account.” If you are satisfied with this picture, click the “Next” button at the bottom of the window.
6. To upload a different image, click the button titled “Upload a new image,” then click “Browse.” Look through your computer’s files to find the image you want. Click "Upload."
7. Click “Next” when you’re satisfied with your image selection and follow the prompts until you are done editing your Yahoo! PageWizards page.

Tips & Warnings

• Be prudent in selecting material for your site. Anybody with a computer and Internet access can see everything on your site can—something to remember while choosing the picture for your Web site.
• Uploading pictures takes longer than uploading text. It's best to have a fast Internet connection if you want to upload pictures.
• Don't forget to complete the PageWizards process to save and publish your Web page.
