Skype offers many services, including voice mail. This is a useful feature for those who use Skype as their sole calling service and who frequently miss calls when they are offline.

Instructions

1. Download Skype. The Skype Web site (see link below) provides a free download of Skype. This program offers many services that you can use to make free or relatively inexpensive online calls.

2. Purchase Skype Voicemail through the Skype Web site's online store. Skype Voicemail costs 5 euros (about $3.76) for 3 months, and 15 euros (about $11.28) for a one-year subscription.

3. Purchase a SkypeIn number. This is a "regular" phone number attached to your Skype account that anyone can call. If you purchase a SkypeIn number, a voice mail subscription is free. A SkypeIn number costs 10 euros (about $7.52) for 3 months, and 30 euros (about $22.55) for a one-year subscription.

Tips & Warnings

• Your Skype Voicemail subscription is not automatically extended. Keep track of when the subscription expires.

• Once you purchase the voice mail feature, you can configure your settings for it by entering your Skype account.

• If you do not renew your SkypeIn number subscription, your number and your voice mail subscription will expire.

• Skype Voicemail must be activated before it will work.
