Sending multiple files with Skype is just as simple as making a single Skype file transfer. All it takes is a Skype account, the shift key, some dragging and dropping.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Skype account
  1. Step 1

Open the Skype software by double clicking the icon on your desktop and log in by entering your user name and password.

  2. Step 2

Add some contacts. Before you can send files to other Skype users, they will have to authorize you. Click the “Add Contact” button and search for a friend. They’ll receive a notice and can then authorize you.

  3. Step 3

Open up “My Computer” and browse for the files you want to send.

  4. Step 4

Select multiple files. Left click and drag a box to select more than one file. Or, first select the first file in a long list by left clicking its icon once, then hold the shift key as you left click the last file in the list. All the files should be highlighted when they are selected.

  5. Step 5

Drag and drop. Simply left click and hold one of the selected files and drag it to your friend’s name on your Skype contact list.

  6. Step 6

Wait for the user to accept. Your friend will receive a notification that you are sending files. They should click “Save as…” and choose a folder in which to save the files.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also zip files using archiving software and send the archive as a single file.
  • If you get disconnected, leave the window open and the transfer should resume when you log in again.
  • Files saved on the desktop are easier to find and send.
  • Do not use bandwidth by downloading other files or using other Internet programs while your file transfer is in progress. This will slow the transfer.
