How to Put an Image on a Web Page with Yahoo PageWizards

Yahoo PageWizards lets you share information, text, links and pictures with your friends and family. It guides you step-by-step through the process of creating a web page without using HTML codes. Putting an image on a web page with Yahoo PageWizards takes less than five minutes.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• Yahoo account

Instructions

1. Connect to the Internet. Use a high-speed connection to expedite the process.

2. Find an image you like. Save it on your computer.

3. Log into Yahoo. Use your Yahoo ID and password to log into Yahoo's network. If you don't have a Yahoo account, you can set one up for free at Yahoo.com.

4. Locate the PageWizards program at the GeoCities website (see resources). Click one of the PageWizards examples that fits your purpose.

5. Select "Create new page" or "Edit existing page," depending on the task you are performing.

6. Follow the onscreen commands by selecting "Next" until you reach a window entitled "Pick your picture."

7. Select "Use your own image." To select an image from your computer you have not uploaded yet, select "Upload new image."

8. Browse your computer until you find the correct image and double-click it. Follow the onscreen instructions until you've finished preparing your Web page.

Tips & Warnings

• Complete all the steps of the PageWizards so your information will be saved and published, not lost.

• If possible, use a high-speed Internet connection and close non-essential programs and browser windows. Your program will run more quickly and reliably.

• Put appropriate material on your Web page. This is an especially important when uploading photos to your website. Remember: Anybody with an Internet connection can view your site.
