Yahoo PageBuilder is part of a class of web editing programs frequently called "WYSIWYG." It stands for "what you see is what you get" and means you don't have to deal with a code in the editing program. You simply drag items and text around until it suits you, and the page will appear on the Internet the same way it appears in PageBuilder. When you finish building your page, follow these simple steps to preview it before publishing it in Yahoo PageBuilder.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  • Yahoo account
  1. Step 1

Connect to the Internet. Even though you can download the Yahoo PageBuilder program to your computer, you must first connect to the Internet for it to function.

  2. Step 2

Log into Yahoo. You need a Yahoo ID and password to access your account, and you cannot access PageBuilder until you log into your account.

  3. Step 3

Start PageBuilder. Initiate the program by visiting the GeoCities webpage.

  4. Step 4

Create a new page to customize by clicking the "New" icon in the upper left corner of the toolbar in PageBuilder.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Open" icon next to the "New" icon to locate a previously saved page. When you find the page, double click it to open it in PageBuilder.

  6. Step 6

To see what a third party will see when they visit your page, click on the "Preview" icon at the top left of the PageBuilder window in the toolbar.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not send your link to anybody or post it on another site without first previewing it.
  • Save your page after you preview it. If you close PageBuilder without saving, your work will be lost.
  • In order to keep PageBuilder working quickly, close all unnecessary browser windows and programs while editing your web page.
  • Do not post inappropriate material on Yahoo using PageBuilder. Anything you post can be seen by anybody in the world with an Internet connection.
