Choosing the Right RAM

Assess the programs you frequently use on your MacPro. If you are running programs that use a lot of RAM on a regular basis or foresee using multimedia frequently, you may want to update your MacPro.

Check the configuration of your old RAM. Knowing this will make it easier to decide on the configuration of new RAM. MacPro usually supports as much as 16 GB RAM. Purchasing this much RAM may prove costly, however.

Look for the pairing option. It is recommended to install the RAM in pairs. Use the free slots provided in case of memory upgrade.
