How to Use a Monitor With a Tablet PC

A tablet PC is easily portable and handy for all your computing needs. What's more, when you want to use it as a desktop computer with a bigger display, you can easily connect it to an external monitor.

• Specialized adapter (optional)

Instructions

1. Plug your external monitor into the VGA or DVI port of the tablet PC. If your tablet PC does not have either of these ports, you will have to buy a specialized adapter that can be used to attach the monitor. Call your tablet PC vendor for more information.

2. Right click on the Desktop icon of your tablet PC and click on "Properties" to open the "Display Properties" dialog box.

3. Go to the "Settings" tab and click on the rectangle bearing the number 2. This stands for the second monitor or the external monitor.

4. Check the option that reads, "Use this device as the primary monitor."

5. Click the "Apply" button. Your external monitor is now ready to use.

Tips & Warnings

• If you can't see the display on your external monitor, try adjusting your screen resolution.

• You may have to install additional drivers to operate an external monitor on some tablet PCs. Make sure that the monitor you are connecting to is compatible with your tablet PC.
