Craigslist is organized by city and state, so you can find classified ads from your region or seek out other cities and states that interest you. Here's how to find your local community classified ads on this popular site.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

Visit the Craigslist home page (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Enter your community name in the "Search" field.

  3. Step 3

You can also find your community by browsing the "State" and "City" lists on the right side of the screen.

  4. Step 4

First click on the state in which you live. A new page will display all cities in that state for which Craigslist carries listings.

  5. Step 5

Click on your city if it is in the list, or click on the city that is closest to it.

  6. Step 6

Your community page will appear. Browse through the various categories or use the search function to find the object of your search.

Tips & Warnings
  • On subsequent visits, you will likely be directed straight to your community page.
  • Check back often. Craigslist continually updates information.
  • Craigslist does not guarantee the integrity of each posting. Be wary and read the warnings by clicking “Avoid scams and fraud” before you post or reply to a post.

on 6/18/2009 Craigslist is good, but has limited search capabilities and has no style. I use www.peanutcafe.com. More web 2.0 and has flyer generation.
