Instructions

Things You'll Need:

Open your web browser and go to the Craigslist Web site. Use your mouse to click on your city. If your exact location is unavailable, find the city closest to where you live.

  2. Step 2

Click on “Jobs,” follow the list beneath to navigate to your area of expertise and click on it. You can also enter the search term "Telecommuting" into the “Search Craigslist” box, and then select "Jobs" from the drop-down menu.

  3. Step 3

Look under each date for titles of job postings that may interest you.

  4. Step 4

Click on a job posting that suits your needs and review the information associated with that job, such as description, hours, pay scale, requirements and distance from your location.

  5. Step 5

Click on the email hyperlink provided to the right of “Reply to.” Outlook will automatically start an email message or you can copy the address and send an email from another source.

  6. Step 6

Repeat steps four and five until you hear back from a potential employer and are satisfied.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your results bring up too many options, try narrowing it down by searching for a more specific word or term to zone in on your needs.
  • Check back frequently with job postings, as things change continuously and new jobs are put up all the time.
  • Job postings, though updated frequently, may not be up to date. It is wise to keep your options open until you hear an affirmative answer from a company. Some jobs may be taken before you begin the application process, so it is wise to apply to several companies.
